QUOTES
“If you’re ever near Tallahassee, look them up and get along to one of their gigs….you won’t regret going to see them, they’re absolute crackers!”
– Hugh Taylor, host of “FolkandStuff” broadcasting on Alive107 from Dumfries, Scotland, 3/28/22
“Hot Tamale may be Tallahassee’s most familiar and well-liked musical duo”
- Tallahassee Magazine 2/1/22
“…occasionally, one comes across a unique hybrid, a blend of sounds that though its roots may be steeped in the elixir of nostalgia, is filled with enough joy, enough melody, enough of a heel-pumping beat, that children, their parents and those who were once flower children can all gather together and delight in harmonies that no matter their ages, touch them.”
“Hot Tamale is such a hybrid.…Everywhere they go, Adrian Fogelin and Craig Reeder’s harmonies joyfully bind people together with their head-bobbing rhythms.”
“To hear them perform is to step back into a folk, sometimes country, at times early rock ’n’ roll mode. Fogelin’s voice is as sparkling as spring water, then as husky as Southern whiskey when she drops it. Reeder says she sounds like Judy Collins. Reeder often sings lead to Fogelin’s instinctive harmonies, but his baritone is warm and friendly. And together they revel in telling the melodic song stories that Fogelin writes.”
- Tallahassee Magazine 2/1/22

about our CD "Veteran Hearts"
"The ideas are tunefully and musically developed over the length of the CD enriching the story-line and giving the whole album its raison d'être. Adrian's voice is superb and the guitar and synth accompaniment is exactly right to reinforce the vocals. A tour de force of a CD and I fervently hope not the last CD from Hot Tamale."
Russell Drury, musician, songwriter, Nottingham, England

About our video “Back Home,” a tribute to the sacrifices made by the families of American veterans
"Our veterans that watched were extremely honored, flattered and moved by the video, Back Homeby Hot Tamale. The Veterans of Foreign Wars remembers the promise of our nation - to always remember every fallen soldier for ever and ever, to love, honor and respect their sacrifice for this great nation. We all feel that your video depicts that - and honors that promise. For myself, as a veteran, and on behalf of the Veterans of Foreign Wars - thank you for remembering and for honoring that promise."
Commander Duane Pickel, Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 3308, Tallahassee, FL
"Our Veterans in attendance on Memorial Day 2017, when we looped the video, were riveted by it. At one time there was not a dry eye in the house - it is that moving. A true honor to our veterans."
